When Syria’s Dust Settles, Will Assad Be Replaced by a ‘Junta in a Box’? a ‘Junta in a Box’? You mean like in Libya and Tunisia? What a joke! However, Assad’s end will be a really bad one, this whole mess reminds me slightly to what happened in Libya last year. Syria, in its present state, is a manufactured set of borders. To categorically insist on retaining those borders is not fair to those actually fighting in this conflict. Let the victors decide who shall represent them - after all, it’s their country. The West would like a tidy ending to a very untidy war, but again, that serves Western interests rather than the interests of those who will inherit the war’s outcome.
